Tom is a Partner and specialist in motor prosecution, coronial and health and safety law. He was formerly a duty solicitor and trial advocate and has an extensive knowledge of the criminal justice system. Tom represents clients in Police PACE interviews, and conducts his own advocacy in the Magistrates’ court and at Inquests representing both organisations and individuals.
Motor Prosecution
Tom is recognised as a specialist in motor crime, and is regularly instructed directly by several of the UK’s largest motor insurers. Tom represents those accused of the most serious motor offences including causing death by dangerous driving, and also in relation to less serious offences, but where catastrophic injury has been sustained.
Care/Inquests
Tom represents companies and individuals during inquest proceedings and has developed a specialism representing care homes. Tom is the nominated lawyer for several large UK care providers and works closely with their senior management teams providing support in the investigation of serious incidents, assisting in responding to Coroner requests, and providing representation in inquest proceedings and CQC investigations.
Health and Safety
Tom also represents companies in relation to fatal/serious injury accidents and helps them to manage and defend health and safety investigations and prosecutions from interview through to court proceedings. Tom has represented individuals and companies accused of gross negligence manslaughter following fatal workplace accidents.
